Is the Hollywood Tower of Terror still open?
Despite being a fan favorite, Disneyland’s Tower of Terror was closed to be rethemed around the blockbuster “Guardians of the Galaxy” Marvel film and had its list ride on January 2, 2017.
The tower, built in 1929, was a popular residence for entertainment industry employees for many years and has often been cited as the inspiration for Disney’s Twilight Zone Tower of Terror attractions. The real-life Hollywood Tower was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
Disney has not announced a closure for Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at this point and the ride is scheduled to be open every day through Disney’s announced calendar, which runs through April 27 thus far. That doesn’t mean, however, that it couldn’t temporarily close for a short period or time at some point this year.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is an enclosed, launched roller coaster located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios within Walt Disney World.
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
This may be the scariest ride in all of Walt Disney World. The theming of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is one of the best of the parks, and you truly will feel like you’ve stepped foot into the Twilight Zone.
The Tower of Terror attraction is closed indefinitely at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as crews work on the ride mechanics. As you can see in our photos below from today, the exterior of the building has been cut open to reportedly give crews access to the guts of the attraction.
