Bats Day is a three-day weekend event in August for members of the Goth sub-culture, that started in 1999 by promoters from two goth/industrial/deathrock nightclubs in Southern California, “Absynthe” located in Hollywood and “Release The Bats” in Long Beach.

Bat Day was a special promotion sponsored in collaboration with Hillerich & Bradsby Company, the manufacturers of Louisville Slugger bats, in which all ticket holders, 14 years old or younger, received a free Little League model bat as a souvenir.
