New Year’s Day is VERY busy—in fact, it’s historically one of the busiest days of the year at Walt Disney World. You can expect extremely long lines on attractions and very long waits for quick-service restaurants.
In respect to this, are Disney resort pools open in January?
Are the pools open in the winter? Yes, year round. What is the water temperature like? The pools are heated throughout the year to a uniform 82 degrees Fahrenheit.
Just so, how many days do you need at Disneyland?
Is Disney World cold in January?
The weather at Walt Disney World in January is marked by mild days, cold nights, and very little humidity and rain. No, it’s not hot for the most part, but the mild daytime temperatures make it one of the best months for touring the theme parks.
The best times to visit Anaheim and Disneyland are March through May and September through October, when the weather is comfortably warm and school’s still in session. In the summertime and around major holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, Disneyland tends to be more crowded.
January is a nice time to visit Disneyland to avoid crowds and experience good weather. Holiday decorations are still up for the first part of the month. Unfortunately, park hours will be shorter than other times of year and some rides might be closed for renovation during the winter.
It’s always a great time to visit Disney theme parks! However, when planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort, expect lower crowds from mid-September through mid-November (before the Thanksgiving break). Mid-January through mid-March is another time when potentially lower crowds are expected.
In a normal year, January and February are the slowest months of the year at Disneyland. It’s a bit of a chilly time in Southern California and the state’s “rainy season” (which means like 2 rainy days per month), and also a time when Disneyland focuses on refurbishments.
You can usually rely on low crowd levels in January which makes it an ideal time to visit to enjoy low wait times and minimal packed walkways. The only day in the month of January we recommend avoiding because of the large crowds is Martin Luther King Jr. Day and weekend which is notorious for bringing large crowds.
Disneyland’s less crowded times are:
- Early January through the mid-February.
- The day after President’s Day (February) until Spring Break (mid-March)
- The middle of April until Memorial Day Weekend (late May)
- After Labor Day through the beginning of October.
